Harry Redknapp’s beloved wife Sandra is currently receiving treatment in hospital, it has been revealed. During a live ITV4 broadcast from Great Yarmouth Racecourse, presenter Matt Chapman shared the news while discussing the race featuring Harry’s horse, King of Bears.

“So, King of Bears, just to say Harry Redknapp will be watching this horse from his hospital bed—well, not his bed, his missus Sandra is just being treated in hospital at the moment,” Chapman remarked. He added that Sandra might have preferred watching Emmerdale, but Harry insisted on tuning into the race.

The couple, together since the age of 17, share a deep bond. While the reason for Sandra’s current hospitalisation remains unknown, she is reportedly being supported by Harry at her bedside.

Fans may recall Harry’s emotional moment on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2018, where he broke down in tears when Sandra surprised him in camp. That same year, she was battling sepsis—a terrifying period that nearly stopped Harry from flying out for the show.

In 2022, Harry spoke of Sandra’s struggle with long COVID symptoms, explaining she had issues with her voice, shortness of breath, and difficulty swallowing. Sandra described it as a frightening ordeal: “The shortness of breath was very difficult. My voice would vibrate and was very weak.”

The couple have endured a number of health challenges together. Harry himself faced a kidney cancer scare and had a heart stent fitted, while Sandra previously battled ovarian cancer and vocal cord damage.

Despite all this, Harry insists he has no plans to retire, saying: “Not a chance. It drives Sandra mad, but I can’t say no to things.”
