Travis Kelce isn’t playing in the Super Bowl this weekend, but he’s still playing sports.
The three-time Super Bowl champion participated in the WM Phoenix Open pro-am on Wednesday, Feb. 4, and shocked the crowd with his golf skills at TPC Scottsdale.
He nearly jarred his tee shot on the par-3 16th hole, as the ball landed just a few feet from the hole. In celebration, he received and put on the WM’s gold chain.
Kelce had a great shot on the 16th hole, landing his ball just a few inches from the hole, as shown in the video posted by the Chiefs.
Kelce must have gotten tips from Adam Sandler when he made a cameo appearance on “Happy Gilmore 2.”
Fans were impressed with the three-time Super Bowl champion, with some also throwing in light-hearted quips.
“He’s pure athletic talent from head to toe,” said @Emma_JR3.
“Trav can do anything,” added @jking_16.
“He can’t retire. Not yet,” posted @TrollOfAngband.
“Where did he get his outfit? Tiger’s (Woods) closet in 1997?” asked @mak7200.
“Sweet shot, but I thought this video was from ‘97 from his outfit,” echoed @joewerner09.
“Swing is looking pretty good!” observed @dawhittington2.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 36, celebrated by taking his golf putter and pretending it was a guitar, giving it a strum, Golf Week reports.
“I think Taylor Swift is going to write a song about that one,” Golf Channel’s Eamon Lynch said during the broadcast.
Kelce and Swift, 36, announced their engagement in August 2025.

Travis is frequently seen on golf courses between NFL seasons. The athlete and his brother, Jason Kelce, played in the 2025 American Century Championship at the Edgewood Tahoe Resort in South Lake Tahoe, Nev.
He was spotted dancing along to Swift’s hit song “Lavender Haze” at a 2024 celebrity golf tournament.

Travis’ golf skills aren’t reserved for just tournaments as he showed off his skillset in Happy Gilmore 2.
His costar, Christopher McDonald, who reprised his 1996 role as Shooter McGavin in the sequel, told PEOPLE that Travis has “got game.”
The film’s director, Kyle Newacheck, also shared that Travis’ career as a pro athlete helped his on-screen presence.
“He’s an athlete, so he knows the moment,” Newacheck told PEOPLE, emphasizing, “He knows how to perform in the moment.”
“I think that’s what I found interesting was when you have these cameos that are professional athletes, they all understand how to perform in the moment. Every one of them gets it,” the director continued.
Travis’ appearance at the Arizona golf tournament comes days before the 2026 Super Bowl, the first in four years not involving the Chiefs. The team was eliminated from playoff contention in December.
As for whether or not Travis will return to the field or retire, he told reporters on Jan. 4 that he’ll spend time talking with his family before coming to a decision.
“I’ve got so much love for this team, this organization and the people here, so I’ll spend some time with them, go through exit meetings tomorrow and get close to the family and figure things out,” Travis said.
