Prince William will attend Pope Francis’ funeral on Saturday, representing his father, King Charles, at the Vatican ceremony.

The Prince of Wales will travel to Rome for the service, Kensington Palace announced on Tuesday.

She will stay behind to look after Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, seven.

The funeral comes just two weeks after King Charles and Queen Camilla had an audience with the Pope.

The royal couple were among the last world leaders to meet with the pontiff before his death on Monday.

The Pope died on Monday at the age of 88, following a period of declining health.

However, he will likely remain in the UK today as his youngest son, Prince Louis, is celebrating his seventh birthday.
